Social media has irrevocably changed our lives. Some of the change is good, and some is bad. Social media brings people together and facilitates familial, social and business relationships. As with all technology, or anything else in life, common sense and good judgement are essential. Without common sense and good judgement, social media can be harmful, and it can have dire social, financial and legal consequences for your company.

In his law practice, Michael Wells has seen many instances where people have used poor judgement. When poor judgement goes viral, watch out!

You will learn:

  • The things you say may have legal consequences
  • Permission needed before using someone else's content
  • Do not say anything on a social media site you would not want repeated
  • How Police catch criminals through social media
  • Emails are forever - are your employees putting you at risk?

The Digital Marketing Institute series of seminars is geared towards small & medium sized businesses. Local experts will lead these lunch and learn seminars that will keep you up-to-date with all the trends and changes in social media, web optimization and digital marketing, including the legal aspects. Seminars are free to all employees of GMA member companies. Lunch is provided.
